When deciding  to invest in a quality piece of reproduction furniture, it must appear to have been "loved" for generations.  A simple stain and lacquer finish will not create this effect, yet it is what most manufacturers use because it can be applied quickly and with very little skill.

At Heritage House I have developed a multi-step technique which has taken years to acquire and perfect.  It involves the use of stains, dyes, glazes, milk paints, lacquers and waxes -all applied with skill and patience.

It is this unique blend of traditional artistry and modern clear topcoats which allow me to create the look of a  150 year-old finish with modern day durability, which my pieces are renowned for.

"As handmade pieces grow old and worn, we cherish them more. As factory made pieces start looking rough, we think about purchasing something new."
